Siyakunakekela started in March 2020.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We ask members of the public to donate to our cause and then we deliver to the school and communities that we have approached to assist with the women and young girls’ needs. We aim to donate sanitary products on a monthly basis.
WHERE DO WE SOURCE OUR PRODUCTS?
All products distributed are proudly South African and locally made and are 100% BIO-DEGRADABLE. We care as much about our planet as we do about female dignity.
IS THERE A MINIMUM DONATION?
We rely solely on donations. Donations can be as little as £1/ZAR25
HOW DO YOU ENSURE INTEGRITY?
We assess every school that approaches us for help, we purchase and distribute products directly to the schools and the administration team photograph proof of our deliveries.
HOW DOES SIYAKUNAKEKELA FIT INTO THE NATURAL HEALTH CATEGORY?
The sanitary towels donated are 100% cotton, natural absorbent fibres, bio-degradable, with a plant based protective layer, no plastic, parabens, dyes or fragrances.
HOW CAN I GET SANITARY TOWELS?
Please reach out to us with your area and how many sanitary towels are needed. We will be able to assist if Siyakunakekela has funding/availability.
WHY DOES SIYAKUNAKEKELA NOT DO PAD DRIVES?
Siyakunakekela is acutely aware of our ecological footprint, therefore we only distribute biodegradable sanitary pads into areas in need.
Many sanitary pads are manufactured using materials such as super absorbent polymers, non bio-degradable plastic, glue etc. which can take from 500-800 years to decompose.

We are based in Johannesburg, South Africa but we are able to deliver anywhere in Southern Africa

Siyakunakekela can help a young girl in need from just £1/ZAR25 per month. You are welcome to donate more.

Siyakunakekela started from the acute awareness of how period poverty interrupts the life of women and young girls in so many ways.
CAN I DONATE THE SANITARY PRODUCTS, RATHER THAN MAKE A DONATION?
Unfortunately, Siyakunakekela is not setup to handle in-kind donations.

CORPORATE DONATION INFORMATION
Siyakunakekela can issue Section 18A Certificate for the value of any donations to assist with your tax claims. We are B-BBEE 100% Level 1. We are a registered NPC, NPO and PBO.
